For over 10 years, I have been providing a successful freelance graphic design service for my customers in Poole, Bournemouth, Dorset and further afield with an ever-growing client base – many of whom are referrals from existing customers. Having built up a strong business relationship with my customers means that many who I work for today were with me from the start!
Before starting up as a freelance designer, I worked at Blue Circle Cement, London, in their in-house design studio. I then moved to Poole where I worked as Graphic Designer in a print bureau for 4 years. Whilst working at the print bureau, I handled a very large variety of graphics and file formats and produced artwork direct for their in-house digital and litho press.
Following this, I joined the in-house design team at Fitness First producing graphic literature for the fitness clubs around the UK. I decided to go freelance after the birth of my daughter in 2005 and have been going from strength to strength ever since.
Providing my customer with an end product they are happy with is key. I realise that for some this may be their first business, first flyer, first advert, first logo etc. – so I aim to explain the design process in laymans terms; how it all works, what’s involved including timescales and advice on printing and perhaps how to work with an existing idea they may have.
